U-10 Boys Work Hard for a Tie
The U-10 boys played the Roxborough Indians on Saturday, 2/18, and came out with a hard-fought tie. We started
the first half of the game very strong. The entire team hustled their way through the opposing team and came
up with several good shots on goal. Joseph started the scoring with a beautiful pass from Ian. At that point,
we were leading the game 1-0. Soon after, however, Roxborough scored and the first half ended with a score of 1-1.
We did not play as well in the second half as we did the first half; we were out-hustled and had to chase down the
ball in our end. Roxborough scored early in the second half and led 2-1. However, we managed to get our second
wind and fought hard in the final 10 minutes of the second half. Danny scored on a perfect pass from Joseph and
tied the game 2-2. There was no more scoring from either team, but there could have been. There were several shots
that hit the post and went across the goal mouth, but the goal tenders were able to stop or deflect the shots.
Kudos to Connor, once again, for his excellent goaltending.
Our next game will be on Saturday, March 4th at 2:00 PM against Penn Academy at Saul High School.
If we win the game against Penn Academy, we will be crowned League Champs.

U-10 Boys Have a Winning Weekend
The U-10 boys had a great weekend, winning both of their games against Somerton and the Holy Terrors.
Coach Keith informed the team that Saturday's game against Somerton was going to be a tough game;
he was right. Both teams started off fast and furious. A lot of shots went wide of the net, but the
shots that did not were stopped by excellent goaltending from both sides. We finally caught a break
and a shot from the right side by Patrick McC. went in giving us the lead of 1-0. There was no more
scoring to be had the rest of the game and we came out with a hard-fought win. Kudos to Connor for
his excellent goaltending and the entire team for their hard-fought efforts. We played the Holy Terrors
on Sunday at their home court at Jardel Recreation Center; a venue which we have not visited in past
seasons. Connor was given the day off (for a job well-done on Saturday) and Tommy L. and Michael were
our goaltenders for the day. The game started off a bit slow, but soon picked up after the first few
minutes. We scored first, with a goal coming from Patrick McK. A second goal was scored by Joseph and
our third goal of the half was scored by Michael. The Holy Terrors scored twice, both shots of which
were over Tommy's head. Nonetheless, Tommy played an excellent first half in goal. At the end of the
first half, we led the game by a score of 3-2. We came on strong in the second half and went on to
have four more goals scored by Joseph, Ian, Dan and Connor. Michael did an excellent job in goal as
well, only allowing one goal to get by him. At the final whistle, we came out with a victory by a
score of 7-3 and extended our winning record to 6-0.
Next game: Saturday, February 18th at 11:00 AM against Roxborough Indians at Roxborough High School.

U-10 Boys Are Off to a Winning Start
The U-10 boys team is off to a winning start this season. The team has welcomed back its former players: Michael, Tyler, Joseph, Tommy, Zachary, KJ, Connor, Patrick, Ian, Billy and Alex and has welcomed three new players, Thomas, Patrick and Danny.
Our first game of the season was on January 7th which was a home game against Bustleton, a team that we have not faced in our past seasons. We came out strong and beat Bustleton by the score of 7-0. Both Connor and Tommy had a great game in goal. What a great start to the new season.
Our second game of the season was an evening game played on January 11th against Port Richmond at Cohox RC. Port Richmond came out strong and was a very aggressive team. However, we played a equally aggressive game and went on to win by a score of 4-3, with the last goal scored by KJ with only 10 seconds left in the game. Our newest teammate Patrick scored two of the four goals for our team. The lowlight of the game happened when Tommy was elbowed and left the game with a minor concussion. He is feeling much better now and is ready to play again.
Our third game of the season was a forfeit by Cohox who dropped out of the league.
Our most recent game (1/21) was a late Saturday night game at Vogt RC. Vogt came out strong and was backed by great goaltending. Michael started in goal for the first time this seasons and did an excellent job; Connor took over during the second half of the game and did a great job stopping a lot of hard shots. We played a very hard game and won by a score of 3-2, with goals coming from Patrick, Joseph and Danny.
Next games: Saturday, February 4th against Somerton @ Saul HS and Sunday, February 5th against Holy Terrors at Jardel RC.
